Automailers & Policies

Automailers & Policies

Automailers are mail agents (MTAs, MSAs, MUAs) that automatically compose template-based message and send to a user as some form of confirmation or verification, reminder, etc.

We have two types, privileged and unprivileged.

Privileged Automailers

These are automailers set up to send email through one of our email gateways. Every service on VitaNetworks that is allowed to send email does it via a customize automailer sender address with the following format:

NoRESP-<sender-reference>@<domain-name>

Where: <sender-reference> is:

  • is the hostname of the service sending the automated message or
  • is the hostname of the host hosting the service sending the message

And <domain-name> is the domain:

  • vitanetworks.link or
  • antipostal.com

Unprivileged Automailers

These are automailers set up to send email through our main email service. Because automailers are usually unauthenticated, meaning their messages aren't relayed, any email they "send" that the servers aren't set up to handle themselves, will be bounced.
