Licensing

PremLINK servers are in a country where copyright laws are nearly non-existent to the level of finding government offices running pirated software. That said, this is nothing about that.

Since the last redeployment of our services special care has been put to have our own assets even if it means it won't be perfect. It's about standing out a little and unlike the copyright cartels that abuse society around the world, we decided to go for a Creative Commons license, specifically BY-SA v4.0 International. So, if you see something you like, grab it, use it in your own thing, the only condition is; to impose the only condition.

Or in other words, you're only required to keep sharing and pass the requirement. Well, there's attribution, but that's not so much a concern but rather to try to reverse a little the damage done by copyright laws where they are the most vicious (e.g; the US) by letting others know some of us still like to share our ideas and collective knowledge.

Of course there will be content licensed differently among our sites, but you should be able to tell apart what is not design or code of ours, for instance, while using Cloudia — what we call our Nextcloud instance — while it has some styling, you should be able to recognize the software elsewhere, or in a blog post there's a pictures, logo or other depiction of a brand or branded anything, those would belong to their respective owners, and we would be using them as aids to reference the world around us, pretty much what people do when writing about something.

Sharing assets

We don't intentionally put assets embedded in CSS or in some stylesheet script for the purpose of making it hard for you to copy, it's only a byproduct of the fact that this is not a site for profit thus zero additional resources for custom code are available, so we have to make do with what we have, but, if you really want something and you can't get it from our servers with regular HTTP requests (we allow and will continue to allow hotlinking BTW at least until the load become unmanageable) don't hesitate to reach us (look around for information how—we won't get into because of bots) with the link of the page were the image/video/audio/code/doc/etc is and we'll be happy to send you (in the case of images) the original vector drawing, all of which we keep with this being one of the reasons of why we do it.

Code

In the case of code, fortunately nothing is published yet. so we've a little more time to explore the options of existing licenses but the general feeling remains; the conditions following will be sought:

  • Unordered List ItemShare the code forward
  • Using the code with your own commercial offer is OK

- If you have a free version/tier, but it you have a free version it must be bundled with it you use it with commercial software and this commercial software has a free option, the code should be available on that tier bundled with the free software. It should not be an additional download,
